Keeping Fruit Fresh and Protected

There are a number of great fruit orchards in the Niagara region.  The tasty fruit that is grown has to be packages properly for food storage and transportation.  There are some choices in growers supplies for displaying, selling and transporting the fruit.  Apples can be sold in bushels or in plastic bags.  The plastic bag can advertise the name of the Orchard or Grower that the produce was grown. Raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are often shipped to grocery stores and local markets in master trays.  A grower supply company may also have 1 quart, 1 pint and half pint plastic containers such as punnets or clamshells that can help you store and display your fruit and keep it protected while shipping.
