Get A Contract Before Renovations Begin

If you have ever watched the reality tv show Holmes on Homes you know how much the host Mike Homes advocates getting home inspections completed and obtaining a signed contract.  When it comes to business a promise doesn’t mean much unless you have it in writing.  A signed contract proves that the company agreed to take the renovation job and the signatures on the receipts proved that you paid for the work.  Often times this little task is overlooked and homeowners are left with incomplete renovations and sometimes the company is left without their final payment.  When it comes to having your bathroom or kitchen remodelled the last thing you want to find is that the tiles are cracking, the pipes are leaking and the window won’t open and you have no proof as to who did the work or that you didn’t get what you paid for.  The easy route is picking a company with plenty of references to provide and with a name you can trust.
